The patient had been unable to work for at least 12 months because of the severity of her pain and being unable to drive.
Previous investigations/ treatments
The patient had seen various specialists in the past including hip specialist, spinal surgeon and a sports physician. Various investigations were done including blood tests, an ultrasound scan of the groin and MRI scan of the spine and the hip but no cause could be identified.
The patient had tried various medications without benefit.
Treatment from Dr. Krishna at Pain Spa
The patient saw Dr. Krishna at his private clinic in Bristol, desperate for some answers. Dr. Krishna diagnosed Piriformis syndrome, based on history and examination findings.
Dr. Krishna performed piriformis injection under ultrasound guidance, which relieved the pain completely within 48 hours.
Outcome
The patient continues to be pain-free more than 18 months after the piriformis injection. The patient managed to go back to work after being off sick for more than 12 months.
