50 year old lady presented with severe hot flushes of long standing duration, following early menopause. She has been experiencing severe hot flushes multiple times during the day and severe night sweats. Symptoms were worse during the night and disturbed her sleep significantly.
The patient presented with a history of knee pain of at least 5 years duration from osteoarthritis of a severe nature. She was not keen on knee replacement because of other co-morbidities. The pain was constant in nature and exacerbated significantly by standing and walking. Her walking ability was restricted significantly restricted.
The patient presented with left ankle pain of at least 5 years duration. Pain mainly involved the outer aspect of his left foot and ankle. He described significant sensitivity and burning sensation in the area. The pain was exacerbated by light touch and on walking, standing and wearing any kind of foot ware. The pain limited his activities significantly and disturbed his sleep.
53 year old lady, with long standing history of low back pain and right leg pain. Previous history of L4/5 decompression with minimal benefit. Leg pain generally much worse than the back pain. Pain was mainly in the right L5 dermatome. She complained of constant pins and needles in the leg. Pain would be exacerbated by standing and walking.
49 year old lady, with history of breast cancer, presented with significant chest wall pain post mastectomy. Pain had been persisted for more than 6 months. She described significant sensitivity and burning sensation over the chest wall, with radiation to the axilla. She also complained of sensitive over the upper part of the arm. in the area.
The patient presented with knee pain of several years duration from osteoarthritis of a severe nature. She was offered knee replacement but wanted to avoid surgery as knee replacement on the other side had previously been unsuccessful. The pain was constant in nature and severely exacerbated by standing and walking. Her walking ability was restricted to a few steps with 2 crutches and using a wheelchair outdoors.
The patient presented with right thigh pain, mainly affecting the outer aspect up to the knee. The pain had been persistent for at least 6 years now. She described significant sensitivity and burning sensation in the area. Dr. Krishna suspected lateral femoral cutaneous nerve entrapment and diagnosed Meralgia Paresthetica as the cause of her pain.
The patient presented with chronic neck pain of more than 6 years duration. The pain was mainly one sided, with radiation to the shoulder blade. The patient also experienced significant headaches from the neck pain. She was unable to carry on with her job in the retail sector. She was very low in her mood because of the intensity of her pain.
The patient had been suffering from low back pain and right leg pain of at least 9 months duration. Pain radiated to the outer aspect of his right hip and the lower part of the leg up to the ankle. The pain was exacerbated with standing, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. The patient was unable to carry on with his work as a plumber.
The patient had been suffering from abdominal pain for nearly 8 months. The pain was localised to a discrete area in the lower abdomen. The pain was exacerbated by sitting down for too long, bending and excessive physical activity. The patient was largely housebound over the last several months because of the intensity of her pain.
